Are MacBooks Really Worth the Price

Yes, they certainly are. In my opinion, for the most part, they are really worth the price you pay for them, depending on your needs and what you plan to use them for.

My experience with Macbooks is relatively recent, having bought a new one within the last year. Due to this, I will tell you what I think about them and if they are worth the money.

Why Are They Worth the Price?

I confirmed without hesitation at the beginning of this article that Macbooks are worth the money. Despite my quick and confident response, there are a few factors that make that question easy to answer.

Here are a few reasons why they are worth the price.

1. High-End Product

First and foremost, I analyze the technology itself when determining whether or not a technology device is worth its price. Is it equipped with the latest and greatest technology? Is it made of quality materials and parts? Does it perform well?

When spending money on a device like a laptop, make sure it meets all of these conditions, otherwise, you’ll end up spending more money in the long run when you have to replace a cheaply made device.

These conditions are easily met by the Macbook. To make sure users have some of the best hardware available, Apple consistently designs the Macbook with the latest technology.

Moreover, they use quality materials and parts, so the laptops rarely malfunction.  Using the latest technology and quality components, it performs as well as or better than similar products. The combination of all of these things results in a high-end laptop that’s worth a few extra bucks.

2. Simplicity

It was Apple’s intention from the very beginning to design computers that were simple enough for anyone to use. This longstanding philosophy continues with the Macbook, which not only uses macOS but also features a simple, sleek design.

In my experience, the Macbook is the easiest laptop to use out of all the computers I own. Its simplicity makes it easy to use at any time. Here are some factors that contribute to this.

  • Easily portable and comfortable to use anywhere thanks to its thin sleek design.
  • You can easily open it, and it stays open as you use it. Additionally, when it is opened and on your lap, it does not feel top heavy or like it is going to tip over.
  • It has a simple yet comfortable keyboard layout.
  • It has a bright, easy-to-read screen that adjusts well to bright or dim light conditions.

3. Security

The Macbook is no exception to Apple’s reputation for top-notch security. It has never been infected with a virus or other threat even though I use it on many different networks, browse many different websites, and download tons of different software.

Additionally, the system provides excellent password security and encryption features if you want to further protect your data. With my Macbook, I always feel secure that my data is protected.

4. Reputation

As one of the world’s leading technology companies, Apple’s reputation precedes them. Most people who use modern technology have heard of Apple. A laptop’s reputation certainly adds to its value, even though most people look at technical specs.

It is safe to assume that a company like Apple will produce superior products due to this reputation. Since it is one of their best marketing tools and helps them sell billions of devices, they don’t want that reputation to change. Designing and manufacturing the Macbook requires a high level of quality and performance to maintain this reputation.

5. Holds Its Value

While you probably wouldn’t want to get rid of your Macbook, if you do need to sell it for some reason, you can be assured that it’s still worth a lot. For a fairly new Macbook that is in good condition, many people are willing to pay a great price.

Look for used laptops for sale on eBay or anywhere else you can find them. Even used Macbooks are quite expensive. Buying a new Macbook is an investment that will hold its value for years to come since other brands and types of computers won’t be available at these prices.

6. iPhone Compatibility

Owning a Macbook can make life a little easier for iPhone users. It is easy to integrate the two Apple products whenever needed because they are compatible. Many users find it worth the extra cost to be able to download files, upload pictures, and transfer music and movies much more easily.

7. Popularity

Popularity is not usually a reason I would use to purchase a tech product. When it comes to great products, I usually look at technical features, but in this case, popularity plays an important role. Apple’s popularity drives it to create great products and keeps its value high.

Despite the fact that it also creates a high level of demand, which in turn raises prices, there are good reasons for its popularity, and all of those reasons make it an excellent value.

8. Luxury

Likewise, this is more of a status symbol or something that makes you feel good about yourself, not about technical data. A Macbook, like many other Apple devices, is often seen as a luxury item.

Our ability to afford and use top-of-the-line equipment often gives us a sense of confidence with whatever we are using it for, as well as spending our hard-earned money on something that gives us a sense of accomplishment.

Why Are They More?

You may now understand why Macbooks are more expensive now that you have seen why they are worth the price. These same reasons are also the reasons why they cost more, and all of these things combined are often referred to as Apple Tax.

It’s not a tax like the government charges. It refers to the higher prices Apple charges for its products and the fact that loyal Apple users are willing to pay that extra money for the Apple name and reputation.

Final Words

You might think that as a long-time PC user and a relatively new Mac user, I would be biased in favor of PCs and against Macbooks’ higher prices, but that’s not the case.

My new Macbook has impressed me after just a short time of use, and I’m not here to debate the age-old question of which is better Mac or PC. Considering the factors I’ve listed above, there is no doubt in my mind that these machines are worth their price.
